Total Movies 4031 Total Viewing Hours 12860 is what your told on the home page and access to all this from $7.95 per month, must make AdultRated one of the best buys on the internet. But drill down a bit and you’ll find 65 videos in the old/mature section, which is a bit of a comedown from 4031. That said, AdultRated is still an excellent site for mature video fans.
Buts what type of site is it? It looks like a Video on Demand site, but in fact it is a subscription site as there are no fees per minute and your subscription buys you full access to all the videos. There are no claims about the content being exclusive, but we found videos that we have not seen before, and I suppose entering this site is a little like visiting your favourite DVD rental shop. On sign up we were presented with 2 options – Premium at $14.95 a month and Standard at $9.95 per month, but you have to hunt to find the difference between Premium and Standard. FYI Premium gives you the option of DVD resolution downloads.
So once in the members area, what do you find? For a site with so many videos on offer, someone here has sat down and thought about the members and how they will use the site. You can list all the titles in generic categories (old/mature and milf being the ones we’re interested in here) or you can do an advanced search and choose action by category/type/quality etc. All videos are broken down into scenes, each being approx 10-20 mins long and you have the option of WMV ([dvd - Premium Members only], high, medium, low resolutions) MPG, IPOD and PSP download formats. Quality varies with the resolution you choose, but the quality of the action is on a par with anything we’ve seen. Download speeds are very good, we did not have any problems with our 2Mb broadband/ADSL link. There is no DRM on this site, so you can download to view at a later time.
There are some downsides to this site, the main ones we found was you have to enter your members name and password for every clip you want to view and, whilst the site is updated with 2 dvds every day, updates to the old/mature section seem to be infrequent and variable in quantity. For example, there were 7 dvds added in February, none in March and 1 in April. The picture galleries feature is a little weak, with the pictures being screen caps of the video, broken down by scene.
Opinion – At $9.95 for 30 days a great deal for mature video fans. We would pay the extra $5 and have the DVD quality option. Its a pity there is no exclusive content on the site otherwise this site would rocket to near the top of our recommended sites.
What We Particularly Liked
Well thought out site design, looks good and is easy to navigate. A reasonable quantity of mature videos, the video scenes information depicts well what you’ll see if selected. Good ranges of download speeds and quality.
What We Particularly Didn’t Like
Constantly entering user/password information, updates could be a bit more frequent, no DVD full length viewing option, cataloging for searches could be a little more comprehensive.
